Created January 2017, Adeyemi Artistry is a company conceived from the manifestation of a vision to expand the poetic works of Negus Adeyemi. Negus is the founder and CEO of Adeyemi Artistry and has started this company with the intent to become known for much more than just poetry, but also creator of a place where art + culture resides and grows globally. Adeyemi Artistry creates unique cultural art events that include poetry and many other forms of art.

Adeyemi Artistry produces high quality poetry books and an array of poetic greetings cards for all holidays, festivities, occasions and celebrations. With a connection and passion for uplifting and supporting people, we also implement poetry/creative writing programming for youth and adults. We have previously had our poetry/creative writing programs at Weeksville Heritage Center for adults. Also, we partnered with Friends Of Island Academy (FOIA) administering poetry/creative writing programs inside Rikers Island & Horizon Juvenile Center for incarcerated youth. Currently, we are in partnership with The Children’s Village and Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) having our poetry/creative writing programs there engaging with their pre-teens and teens. We are offering these services at their facility and also virtually. Adeyemi Artistry also has a series of virtually offering poetry/creative writing sessions for teens and adults. We additionaly off virtual poetry writing classes for adults with CourseHorse. Our plan is to keep envisioning importance and empowering people with their words. Our intent is to heal and make this world a better place each word at a time.

Negus Adeyemi is an African-Caribbean-American writer, born in the borough of Brooklyn by parents from the island of Barbados. While moving to New Jersey at a young age and living there until he was a young man, he has returned back to Brooklyn as an adult. With the fortune of his father being a calypsonian and folk musician, he literally grew up around storytelling and performing. It wasn’t until he graduated from NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) in 2008 with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering that he himself began to seriously write poetry. Passionate about his culture and heritage from the time of his conception, Negus displays these and many more emotions in every one of his poems. Exuberant with these emotions, he is very ardent in writing poems about the cultivation and edification of his people. Utilizing a plethora of ways and topics for people to relate and connect with his messages.

As a poet, his goal is to express himself in a way that enlightens, heals, uplifts, guides and augments the hue man spirit. Negus is much more than just a writer, he is also a father, husband, electrical engineer, teaching artist and owner of Adeyemi Artistry Incorporated. Through his poetic journey thus far he has performed his poetry at many different venues including various universities, colleges, prisons, churches, libraries, bookstores, festivals, fundraisers and multiple other events throughout North America. He has written and self-published six poetry books which includes, L.O.V.E. (Letting Out Vast Emotions) which was released [June 2009], Mind Of A Mature Lion [January 2011], Soularadiance [April 2014], Gemineye [May 2017], Crownshockra [April 2021] and now his latest book Heirbender [October 2021].
